Cancellation and Refund Policy
MACHUPICCHU EXCURSIONS E.I.R.L. (RUC: 20608902563) strives to provide clear and transparent cancellation and refund conditions for our clients. Please read carefully before confirming your booking.
1. General Conditions
- All cancellations or modifications must be requested in writing via email at info@machupicchuexcursions.com.
- Cancellation fees apply depending on the nature of the service (Inca Trail permits, Machu Picchu tickets, train tickets, accommodation, and private services).
- Refunds, when applicable, will be processed within 15 to 30 business days, excluding bank transfer or credit card fees.
2. Inca Trail Permits
- Non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Once purchased from the Peruvian Ministry of Culture, permits for the Inca Trail (2 days or 4 days) cannot be cancelled, refunded, or transferred under any circumstances.
- Date changes are subject to availability and government regulations, but usually treated as a new purchase.
3. Machu Picchu Entrance Tickets
- Non-refundable and non-transferable.
- The Peruvian Ministry of Culture does not allow cancellations or refunds for Machu Picchu tickets.
- Name and date changes are not permitted once the ticket is issued.
4. Train Tickets (PeruRail / IncaRail)
- Train tickets are subject to the policies of the operating company.
- Some categories may allow date changes with an administrative fee, subject to availability.
- Cancellations may result in partial refunds, depending on the provider’s terms.
5. Tours and Packages (excluding Inca Trail & Machu Picchu tickets)
- Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the start date: Full refund, minus non-refundable expenses (bank fees, hotel penalties, etc.).
- Cancellations made 15 to 29 days prior: 50% refund of the tour cost.
- Cancellations made less than 15 days prior: No refund.
6. No-Shows
- Failure to appear at the agreed meeting point or start date will be considered a no-show and will result in the loss of 100% of the payment.
7. Force Majeure
- In the event of strikes, natural disasters, pandemic restrictions, or government-imposed closures that prevent the operation of the service, MACHUPICCHU EXCURSIONS E.I.R.L. will do its best to reschedule services or provide travel credits.
- Refunds in such cases are subject to third-party providers (Ministry of Culture, train companies, hotels).
8. Travel Insurance Recommendation
We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations, medical emergencies, or lost services.
