This trek will take you to the enchanting snow-capped Mountain of Ausangate which, lying at an elevation of 6,384 m / 20,945 ft. above sea level, is listed as Cusco’s highest mountain. Here, you’ll be able to drink up immaculate views of the 7 lakes of Ausangate with their pristine pools of azure and turquoise conquering your gaze.

You’ll also get to feast your eyes on wildlife like llamas, alpacas, eagles, geese and condors, endemic to the region, frolicking along the trail.

Day 1: Day 1: Pacchanta, Ausangate

After a 4:30 am pickup from your hotel and a 3 hour drive passing by Tinke village we’ll reach Pacchanta where you’ll be greeted with a scrumptious breakfast made by our local chef using only the freshest ingredients that Peru has to offer.

Fueled with a delicious meal, we’ll start the day’s trek with a 5 hour hike towards Ausangate’s 7 beautiful lakes which include Lake Azulcocha, Otorongo, Pucacocha, Alqacocha and Q’omercocha. These crystal clear lakes are not the only stunning sites you’ll see. You’ll also get to lay your eyes on the serene and spectacular snow-capped mountains that envelop the region, as well as the magnificent flora and fauna that dot the trail to your destination.

After soaking up the sweeping vistas that Ausangate’s 7 glacial lakes have to offer, we’ll head back to Pacchanta where a delicious buffet lunch prepared by our local chef awaits your arrival.

After lunch, you can take a dip in the hot springs of Pacchanta, the waters of which are touted as possessing powerful healing properties. Relax and rejuvenate your mind, body and soul as you soak up the calming and tranquil ambience that the hot springs of Pacchanta have to offer.

We’ll then head back to Cusco where you’ll be safely dropped off at your hotel.
